GREIG BURGOYNE : Drawer Plastic Artist :
In December 2016, the English artist Greig Burgoyne presented an art performance at "La Confection Idéale", a cultural space located in the north of France, near Lille.
His project drew on repetitive movements and performance which were recorded on video and accompanied by visual elements which highlighted the absurdity of the situation.
For this work @ "La Confection Idéale", Greig was inspired by the work of Russian writer Sigismond Krzyzanowski, author of the novel Quadraturin, which asks the questions posed by Bernard Tschumi : Does space have limits? What can be found beyond these limits? Or, does space continue infinitely?
His latest project was presented in Glasgow, Scotland in collaboration with the "Patricia Fleming Project, a cultural space that showcases artists of diverse backgrounds.
"WhiteNoise" is also due to be presented in spring 2017, along with the publication of Marmelade Visual Theory –a book on the artist’s work distributed by "Central Books" of London.
GREIG BURGOYNE first appeared on the international art scene in 2012, and established his reputation over the next two years. The act of drawing remains at the base of his artistic expression, together with a zest of humour and the perspective of a child gazing at the absurdity of the world around him.
